Regza 32" not dispalying 1080i

Just got a new setup with a Regza 32 (great tv by the way) and a philips progressive dvd player with divx, hdmi, etc..

For right now, I only have component cables until HDMI arrive. However, the manuals state that the dvd player and tv can handle 1080i with either component or hdmi...however, on the TV, that feature is grayed out...

I was watching 28 weeks....eeesh...nightmare city....

anyway...it states 480p at 16x9....no 1080i...

I have double checked all the settings... dvd player is set to progressive with the component out cables...but TV does not allow for that Native mode..?

Any tip o roos..?

thanks

Usually 720p and 1080i are not available via component. If you do have that feature on your player for some reason, the "progressive" setting might be disabling 1080i as a resolution? 1080i is interlaced, not progressive.

Can you get 720p output (if that's an option) with progressive enabled?
