Regular Monitor Cable vs BNC Monitor Cable

Can someone tell me briefly whats the big difference?

I have a 18.1" LCD that uses regular Monitor input and ALSO BNC input.

Also on ebay i see there's two VGA or SVGA. i believe the SVGA is better?

VGA is pretty much == to SVGA now, all VGA is SVGA.
