No, but there is a setting that can manually limit the registry size. By default it's 25% of the paged pool size, but can go as low as 4MB or as high as 80% of the paged pool size. If you didn't play with any of those settings manually or with a "tweak" program, then I dunno what it might be. The paged pool size can also be limited if you have very little physical memory.

The registry limit is eliminated in XP.

Thanks Lord Evermore, do you know by chance why there is a limit on the registry size??

Well, the entire registry has to be kept in memory during operation (or a large part of it), so you wouldn't want it taking up ALL the memory available to the kernel. But the way the paged pool is set up in XP is different, so the limit doesn't exist there.
