What am I saving if I save my registry folders...config and profiles? Does that have my documents and personal files? I am looking to back up my system without copying all files to a CD. I am on a WinXP Pro box.

I don't understand what you're asking.

The registry consists of hives, keys, subkeys, values, and data. There are no files in the registry. Registry is mostly a unified configuration for your system. To back up files, you need to back up.. actual files.

Backing up the registry allows you to save settings, like keyboard repeat rate, file usage history, app configuration, that sort of stuff.
