I format my main C: fairly often, and don't mind doing it, but my question is now, is there a way to export all the registry keys for all my games so I don't have to re-install them every time as well, becuase some of those guys are huge especially with all my downloaded levels, saved games, etc, etc it becomes a pain in the arse to restore games.

I have all my games installed to a separate partition, so that's not a problem. My only problem is registry entries. I imagine I can export a folder and all it's sub keys fairly easily, would this work for games? Just export the folder under the Software group that belongs to that game and then import it after the re-install?

You can export you reg. keys but I dubt that it would help you - 60% of the times that would save you the time to re-install a game but the other 40% of the games are putting/updating files in the windows\system folder - and reconfigure other parts of the reg. that deal with the updated files - so you would still need to re-install your games

at 99% of the time you can backup your saved games/player data by backuping a few files without messing with the reg. at all!

Yeah I can get all my saved games/player data usually pretty easily..

But some of my games are huge.
BG is a 2.5gig install
D2 is a 1.5gig install
it'd just be nice to save some time...but it looks like I'm getting a killer deal on Drive Image and Partition Magic Pro so I'm not to worried about it anymore I'll just DI my windows drive, fresh re-install feeling but much faster and easier ;)

Thanks for the response though.
