Going through my registry cleaner, I find alot of keys leading to files in other Windows OS installations. I understand when a key leads to a partition where it has placed an item, or where a program installation may have originated, but is there any good reason that a key to another OS should exist, or that it should remain?

There are "Windows NT" key names in a Windows XP registry.

One example is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

It is just a name that was introduced in an earlier version of Windows and was never changed since is still used for the same functionality in Windows XP.

What I meant is that the path that the key points to, is on another drive (i.e. M instead of C). which should never have been touched by C:, because it is in another OS in my multiboot system.
