Is there a registry key that can be set to move the location of the file to which memory is dumped with the system is hibernated? I can't get it to create anywhere but in the root directory of the %systemdrive% disk, which doesn't have space left for the hiberfile.
Just to discourage people with simple and sensible alternative suggestions: I can't make the disk larger with a neato disk management tool or use some other disk as my system drive. My C: drive is 2gig and FAT and almost full and it can't be changed to NTFS or anything sensible like that. Why? Well, the machine has umpteen packages installed and configured that I don't want to re-do so I'm stuck with staying with C: as my system disk. And the disk has to remain FAT because I am running dual-boot Windows 2000 and 😱 DOS. Don't laugh too hard; I really like my old DOS games.
