Registry error while overclocking? Please help!

MSI K7T TurboR w/OC BIOS
1.2 GHz/133 FSB Thunderbird
When I set the multiplier to 10.5, Windows pops a window up saying "The following error occurred while loading device VNETSETUP. Error 6101: String specified by the COMPUTERNAME keyword in the registry was not found". I click the OK button and Windows finishes loading. Then another window pops up "Windows Registry Checker. Windows found an error with the registry. Windows will restart and fix the registry for you." I have no choice but to click OK, which restarts the system. I get the same error again. This doesn't happen at 1333 MHz (10x), only 10.5.

It may help to know that I uninstalled all Microsoft networking junk since I have no need for the logon screen at system start. Cable modem here. Any ideas how to fix? 1400 sounds so much better than 1333

Thanks in advance!

If you chip will go there, you may have to increase the voltage a little.

The registry problem isn't rare.

Do like Netopia says... up the voltage. You pushed your chip a bit too far and in the process it corupted your registry. It happens quite frequently. Just pray it didnt corrupt your fat table on your hdd like it did to me!!!

Thanks guys, this is my first time oc'ing and didn't know the specific error messages that would come up. I'll mess with the voltage a bit and see how it goes. Everything runs fine at 1333 still so I'm doing ok. Or maybe I should stop being so greedy.

1400 and counting 🙂 Voltage is at 1.80, so I think I'm near the limit. I'll try some FSB shenanigans and call it a day.
