I'm looking for a good registry cleaner. Is there a freeware product out there that won't cause damage to my system, but will clean the extra junk that ends up in the registry as time goes on....??

Thanks....

. You can DL regclean from the MS web site. It does a good basic job. You just run passes until it doesn't find anything more to remove, then reboot.
. I use the one that comes in Vcom FixIt utilities or SystemSuite. You can use that at any level you choose from safe to iffy to dangerous.
. Of course, always back up your registry before using any registry tool...

Hi All!:)

I don't mean to rain on anyones parade here but after using registry cleaners (Regclean and McAfee Uninstaller) in the past, I've come to the conclusion that they only cause problems... If Your system is not crashing or giving You problems already I would recommend that You don't use them.

Love You!

It really is down to how good the software is and also the skill of the user ,I`ve used registry fixer in Ontrack SystemSuite for many years now, besides most good registry cleaners are colour coded from green, yellow ,red on how critical the registry file is ,and they also make a backup copy anyway.

They do really clean out a lot of registry crap which is left over like from uninstalled programs or updates.
