Registry changes for changing hardware acceleration?

Hi there.

At work we use an in-house OpenGL program for displaying the geometry of some structural analysis models (mainly Pipe/tubular member)structures.
With our newer Nvidia cards, up to G4-Ti4200, the graphics kinda stink, with the intersection lines between two pipes being very edgy etc... These errors show up on plots and screen dumps as well, making our program pretty useless

Anyway, I found out that lowering the hardware acceleration slider under Advanced/Troubleshoot in the Video properties fixes the problem, at least quality-wise. The display is now much slower, but a lot prettier, but of course other programs that work fine with full acceleration are affected too.

So, instead of manually sliding the hardware acceleration back and forth when switching between different programs, I was wondering if anybody would know the registry change necessary for setting the hardware acceleration slider? That way I could just click the proper .reg file for whatever program I need to use.
