SubZeroX -I heard that if you register to vote they put you on the list for jury duty.
In California:
"Counties may choose names randomly from Department of Motor Vehicles lists, voter lists, and lists such as the utility company's customer list or telephone directories."
notfred- once you register to vote you're registered permanently (unless you change your name or address). You don't have to re-register for every election.
In California:
"You must re-register to vote if:
you change your address within the county or move to another county in California
you change your name
you wish to affiliate with (join) a political party or change your political party affiliation
From time to time the County Elections Official will mail a form to your address. If the form is returned by the post office because you no longer live at that address then the County Elections Official will remove your name from the list of registered voters."
So, SubZeroX, you became part of the CA jury pool when you got a CA driver's license, license plates, a phone, utilities, your voter's registration and probably other things, too. It looks like not voting (or re-registering if you need to) won't get you off the jury duty rolls. I guess you'll have to come up with another reason for never voting again.
