Registering Modules -*SOLVED*-

Hey there,

Installing iTunes 7, almost finished with installation, but at the very end, it hangs on "Registering Modules". Now, iTunes'll still run if I open her up, but I have encountered another error while using it, and I'm thinking the two issues may be related.

First, I'd like to identify if this is possibly an iTunes specific issue, or if the problem lies within my computer's OS, something that is corrupt system-wide.

Second, if it is a problem with my OS's installation, is a reformat the only solution? My current OS installation is only a month old, but it does already have a bogged-down feeling, unfortunately.

Thanks in advanced.

Could you tell me what the errors are? cos maybe i can figure that out. I use iTunes, but im not that much of a fan - Anapod Explorer for me 😀

Sure... it has to do with the now-integrated iPod update. When I try to update my 5G to the new 1.2 (right #?) version, it returns error code 1413 almost instantaneously.

However, I went through the installation a few times and played around with ending different "msiexec.exe"s, because there were 6 or 7 opened by the installation. This last time i went through, it seemed to have "unfrozen" the installation, and it continued, reporting the installation had completed successfully (as opposed to rolling back and saying that installation was aborted).

I'll restart and report back, but if this "Registering Modules" thing reflects a problem with my computer, not just with iTunes, I'd like to know now sooner than later.

Thanks.

I have now identified the problem as being with the registry files associated with iTunes Burning/Importing CDs. I'll have to play around with these later.
