registering a .edu domain?

none of my regular domain registration sites allow for .edu, and google's not being too great (or rather i'm not being too great to google...)

any help?

I think that's all regulated by ICANN or something.

i represent a computer training institute thats certified. its a global operation, i represent a single branch of it and we have a .com website but want a .edu in addition.

you MUST be an accredited institution to have a .edu
Certified doesn't equal accredited.

To obtain an Internet name in the .edu domain, your institution must be a postsecondary institution that is institutionally accredited by an agency on the U.S. Department of Education's list of Nationally Recognized Accrediting Agencies (see recognized accrediting bodies).
