Registering a domain name

I'm going to be registering a .com domain name soon, does it matter who I register with?

I was planning on using godaddy.com to register, because I have a coupon code, are they good?

I don't need hosting yet, I just want to hold a domain name for a future buisness venture.

On a side note, what does everyone think of using the Flickr gimmick of dropping the "e" from the name? Is it overrated? Could I face legal trouble if I used that technique? Will people take me less seriously?'

Thanks in advance for thoughts/advice

Namecheap.com - much simpler control panel, doesn't try to sign you up for 50 million offers when purchasing a simple domain, and you get a free year of whois guard.

confirmed. i fvcking hate godaddy because of the 3850 pages of useless clutter and add-ons they want you to buy into. plus there's that whole bob parsons mantra about it.

I use namecheap for all my domains. $5/year simple hosting @ e-rice.net so I don't look like a squatter.

what do you think?

TextTradr.com

or texTradr.com

??

i think dropping the 'e' from trader is a bad idea... imo textrader.com would be best

too late!! I just registered both of them for a site I was planning on building, but I'd be willing to sell you one of them.. 🙂
