I need to change the registered owner of the operating system, ie My Computer/Properties shows the registered owner. I have done it before via the registry but can't find previous notes or remember the path after running regedit.
Would appreciate any help. thanks.
 
Use regedit to locate

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

and then look on the right side for RegisteredOwner and modify
the value data to whatever name you want to use.

The you can go to the

control panel >
user accounts

and change the "logon" name.
