there is a one clock latency penalty (from the register), but sometimes this can be masked.

Can anyone enlighten me on how to mask this, or if it's possible?

Reason being i already have a few sticks of 256mb registered ECC DDR ram and wanted to use just 2 sticks in a workstation, and would like to avoid the latency hit if possible(ECC already slows it down some).
