The register just posted some P4 1.4GHz bencmarks comparing it to the 1.1GHz Athlon.

Looks like the Athlon at 1.1GHz solidly beats it in the Integer intensive apps but the Willamette pulls ahead, sometimes by a very large margain in FPU apps.
I was expecting it to be the opposite was around.
Overall the Willamette performs better than I was expecting.
Assuming the benchmarks are reliable of course.
