I read a post about making a dvd region free???
What is a region and why have them???

There's 3 regions, Asia, America, and Europe. Basically the DVD discs sold in perticular region can only work with player that's sold in the region and vice versa. I think it's a way for the company to make more money..
 
from what i remember their are 7 regions. USA is region 1. to bad it doesn't stop copying by the chinese anyways
