Region locked PS3 game incoming

They wonder why the JRPG genre is dying. Though it's Sony's fault for giving them the power to do so.

OMG NO AAAAIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!!

1 game after almost 6 years, and done to stop cheap imports into Japan because for this game they've included all of the Japanese-language content.

As an American I'm outraged that if I decide to move to Japan I won't be able to import the cheaper North American version there.

The special edition is Japan exclusive and Europeans will have to wait. I suck at fighting games so this one doesn't bother me but I wouldn't be surprised if there will be more locked games.

I don't understand what the big deal is. It wasn't long ago when you had to actually buy a japanese console or use a mod to play region locked games. Nothing is keeping you from doing the same. Admittedly it is harder to mod the PS3 these days, but I'm sure someone could write a patch to allow these games to be played. Naturally it will kill the ability to go online, but hey, nothing is without compromise.

Let's not like act like region locked games are a new thing. This latest console gen has really spoiled people in some ways.

I hate to say UH NO.. but i will .. take a look at actual sales figures even in Japan. Or for full releases in other countries of the JRPG's.. they simply dont sell well anymore. Thats on our heads ( the end users who buy the stuff). Personally i own pretty much all of them out for the PS3 and the 360.. and sadly more then half are utter crap, anotehr 1/4 are playable, but only.. and the last 1/4 is mixed from ok to really good. JRPG need to quit with the 14 year old Hero's, the 12 year old busty girls and the WHINNY characters.. A 20 year old is fine.. boobs that cover 3/4 the chest area (and lets just note, I like BOOBS!) .. fun to look at.. but boring, and starts to really smack or creepy after awhile in cartoon form. The last FF.. man you spent 6 hours hitting the same buttons while you learned the game (nice to learn.. but stretching it to 6+ hours!!!!) stuff like that is killing hte JRPG.. and games like DEMONS SOULS which is a nice mix of RPG and Action dont help.

Or the great original version "Dragon Warrior"

I loved Dragon Warrior 7 (last one to be called 'Warrior' before the Enix and Squaresoft company combination) for the Playstation. So long, so much grinding required to win AND so much grinding required if you wanted to mix and match classes to unlock better classes that took forever to get.

I still have it, just sitting around in its case, as I no longer own a Playstation or PS2 or PS3. But its a memory of mine.
