I have an Apex

BTW, I was at Circuit City with my Dad last month. He asked the salesman (a young guy) about region-free DVD players. The sales schmuck explained AT LENGTH that all progressive scan players should be able to play any region DVD's. :roll:

the philips 642 can be made region free from the remote control.
plays divx files too. :)
~60-70 at bb, cc, target, compusa

Yep. I got one of those for my parents. After unlocking it with the code, it played just about everything I threw at it.

Yep. I got one of those for my parents. After unlocking it with the code, it played just about everything I threw at it.

usually most cheap made in china dvd players can be made region free. Apex is one that can be made region free....any low end brand with a zoran chipset can be made region free.

really? was just at 2 different Targets last night and they each had 4+ on the shelves.

Yeah. I didn't have any trouble getting mine from Target either.

Even better is the region free....and ntsc/pal switchable. Some will play both, but output in whatever the disc is.
