Started getting a message when trying to shut down Win Me - regenv32 caused an error. Let scandisk run through and it has not corrected the problem. Situation gets worse, software crashes, now I cannot even create a folder. Cannot run Nero - informs me the file has been modified I may have a virus.
Obviously I'm sure that I do. I (foolishly) did not have virus software running. Cannot reinstall Me, informs me the registry is corrupted.
Looking for some advice on next steps (that will certainly now include running antivirus software). I don't really care about full reinstall, all my stuff is backed up on CD.
My questions are - How do I reinstall and what is the best way to go about doing this, given Me will not reinstall when running in Windows. I have Win 98 full version and Me upgrade.
