Regarding the Texas Bowl and RU's first Bowl win. . .

was this better for rutgers, to get into a lesser bowl and win it?

what if they had beaten WV and gone to a major bowl, would they have had a shot at winning the game?

at least this way, Rutgers gets their first bowl win and they CLEARLY outclassed Kansas last night.

They would've played WF, a beatable team.

wow, really? RU could have been competitive with WF it seems to me.

anyway, it was still cool RU won their first bowl game.

RU would've won the Big East, and would've played in the Orange Bowl vs the ACC winner (WF). I think they'd have an easier time against WF then if GT had won the ACC.

I think Rutgers would have been favored against Wake Forest.
I don't see why. Wake is tough every year, regardless of their record.

IMO, Wake played a tougher schedule, and was more impressive this year than Rutgers...but unfortunately, Rutgers was everyone's favorite underdog because of their initial winning streak vs. mostly nobodies.
But Rutgers would have had to have beaten WVU to have gone, I believe, and that might have gotten them favored.

apparently you didn't pay much attention since you don't know who the played. that said, they deserved a much better bowl, but got screwed, ironically much like Kansas State did in 1998.

I doubt it. GT's starting idiot QB is ineligible for their bowl game.

Damn didn't even realize that. That's a rough blow.

they didnt play kansas.. Kansas is not in a bowl game.

They played Kansas State who forgot to show up unfortunately.

It is probably the best thing that could happen to Ga. Tech. Reggie Ball is trash.

Not really. Reggie Ball is an incredibly average QB. His completion % in big games is =<50% IIRC.

Unless he is playing Auburn. Then he's like lightning in a bottle.

His completion percentage is <50%, 44% to be more precise - this includes the cupcakes teams he gets to "pad" his stats with, otherwise he's lucky to complete 1 in 3 passes against decent teams.

You'd think this would be o.k. if he were a running QB, but he isn't, which is mind boggling when you think that he's been the starting QB all this time...

Out of all the BCS conference teams I've seen play, Reggie Ball is by far the worst QB. Surprising when he easily has one of the best weapons to throw to in Calvin Johnson.
