Regarding the latest nvidia beta drivers

I would like to point out the the latest forceware beta for 8800 series has some serious issues, for me atleast.

There is a Hertz problem at 1900x1080 that cuased some issues with my eyes and game me headaches, very strange they would release this. I went back to the disk version of the drivers that came with my new 8800GTX and the problem was fixed, you can see a slight graphics issue as well on the desktop. Anywas, my eyes are fine and the headackes are gone, (except for other issues i have all over these forums, heh, I will get them worked out though).

THE CURRENT OFFICIAL DRIVER PROBLEM: The way the screen is adjusted is defunct at that resolution as well. You cannot adjust it, any attempt to do so will cause, blue screen. Nvidia is admitting to this problem.

Ok, just a warning and might not be accurate for all systems.

What's the version of the driver you had trouble with? I'm running the latest beta driver, 163.75, and it's fine. I was getting an odd anomoly here and there during HL2-E2 but other than that no issues.

I've been installing from WHQL driver 163.69 until 163.76 Beta driver without any problem on games (1280x1024) such Half-Life, WiC, Dirt, Fear or FSX. Maybe it's because i don't play it on high resolution ?

i read again your post, i think what you want to say is the refresh rate become very low in vista, right ? yes i have this kind of problem too in vista, but now i have it no more because i go back to xp. Vista sucks...

There's a way to override this refresh rate by using RivaTuner or Ntune or in the game itself. Some games has its own setting to override the refresh rate, but one time i played FSX, there's no option to set refresh rate in FSX so i override the refresh rate and vista are crash (WHQL driver or Beta driver).

I think he meant it it good humor. Take a deep breath, and calm yourself.

And Vista doesn't "suck," sorry.

I guess you missed the ;) but anyway it was a joke. And its not Vista's fault nVidia has trouble writing working drivers.

You have all this hardware;

Q6600 @ 3.2GHz (400x8) 1.35v
GA-965P-DS3 Rev 3.3
OCZ 2GB PC6400 Platinum Rev.2 4-4-4-12 @800MHz 2.0v
XFX 8800GTS 320MB 650/1000MHz.
Seagate 7200.10 320GB
Audigy 2ZS
CoolerMaster RealPower 550W
CoolerMaster Centurion Case

and can't afford an LCD monitor? You can buy 19" widescreens all day for freaking $150

This is just some half-ass, ridiculous post intended solely to badmouth Vista. Pathetic. Download a freaking driver for your monitor then and set the god damn refresh rates to something pleasing to your eyes. I have the same drivers on the same operating system and I have no problems what so ever.

Vista kicks ass. Quit looking for reasons to hate it and start being smarter than your computer and make it work for you. XP is a step backwards. If you can't make Vista work then it's 100% your problem, not Microsoft's. Most of us with half a brain are using and enjoying Vista every day with complete success. Maybe you need to take a night course in computers to help you learn about them.

What are you ? A sucking a$$ Vista promoter ?
I bought Vista with my money, i upgrade my PC component little by little with my money, so where's your problem to judge me when i say to myself that i have enough for the PC and to not buy an LCD for a f*#king 150$ while my CRT 19" still serve me well ?

And once again Vista sucks !!! Now you can kiss my a$$...

No, I'm a guy who doesn't have his head buried in his ass and understands the basics in operating a computer and doesn't try to pass the blame on to somebody else when I'm the one failing. It isn't Vista's fault that nVidia doesn't have a driver to fix your issue. What part of that simple fact don't you understand? Quit trying to blame the wrong people and channel your energies into fixing your problem, like a grown up.

You should sell your PC gear and get a Mac anyway. They work well for people who like to spend more time whining about MS and less time looking for solutions.

Do you or do you not understand that the refresh rate of your video card output is translated by Windows only as your driver reports it? If nVidia creates a driver that does not allow a refresh rate setting high enough for your liking what is Vista supposed to do about it? Do you think XP has some special magic in it? Why are you not upset with your video card manufacturer over this? They are the ones responsible.

Just stop whining about Vista when they aren't even responsible, it makes you look dumb.

And I hope your 3DMark06 score is a lot better than mine. If you blame Vista for your driver issues, however, then I doubt you understand how to tweak a computer.

Seriously, balane is right dude. Driver issues are not Microsoft's problem, they are the driver manufacturer's problem.

A lot of people like just mindlessly bash Vista but I really don't think it's that bad of an OS if you've got some decent hardware to power it. I like it better than XP. A lot of people just need to get over it and stop the needless bashing.

Especially you, it is NVIDIA's fault that the drivers have these issues, NOT Microsoft. Don't try to prove something you don't know enough about.

Dude, seriously, I currently run a 32inch Sharp 1080p and a samsung 244t take a look. Who the hell said I did not have a decent monitor? I wrote this thread knowing what the heck i was talking about. I am certainly not badmouthing nvidia, NOT MY INTENT. This thread was just to warn people who might have bad eyesight and get headaches. I am surprised the amount of flaming cause of this, rediculous.

I personally do not expect any one person or company to "GET IT PERFECT" every time. yet, those same people and companies sould be receptive to changes and improvements, as they obviously are.

In no way is this a reflection of Nvidia or Vista. pfft, they are what they are.

Then again, maybe you were not talking to me. heh. whatever.

Reading through this thread, I just have to ask:

Is there some kind of contest for the number of times the word ass can be worked into one post?
