The Phantom Flusher is (probably) a trojan/virus that someone unleashed, but programmed with enough "smarts" to rotate the mail ID on each new infection. So that instead of the rapid rise in one ID that is common with a normal trojan, there were many, many ids (mostly people in this forum) that had an unexplained steady rise. The really "smart" part of the trojan is that it seemed to "stop" infecting a certain e-mail id once around 20k blocks a day was reached. No one is sure how this was pulled off. Heck, we're not even sure it really was a trojan, but we're pretty sure.
Some of us are still getting blocks from the PhF (I'm getting about 15-17k a day). It was neat for a while, but in the long run, most of us just wish it would go away!
