Regarding Censorship

To AnandTech Moderators

I realized that you guys have censorship on the forum, that's fine with me. However, the problem arises when you type in some censored word, and it won't let you post unless you edit that word. For some reason, when that happens to me, I have to retype my entire post becuase the contents of that post are not recalled. Many users are experiencing a problem where they don't even type a swear, and the post gets censored.

I've seen this on many threads, and in some cases people upload text documents just to get their post across. I beleive the problem arises with words such as "Asses" or something similar to that.

My proposal to that solution is to simply star out the censored word, it's really annoying to go back and retype the post.

Thanks,

We feel your pain. Unfortunately there's nothing that we as moderators can do about it.

I know that with Firefox, this isnt' an issue, and the text is preserved across browser pages.

It works fine for the quick reply, but if you use the normal reply window via popup you lose the text...

ermm... i'm guessing the language filter doesn't work in FI?

Sir:
How would one go about doing that?

So does FF, or at least for me, the few times it has ever happened.

I've lost the text every once in a while. For any decently long post, I now work it up in notepad, then just copy it over.

The "select the text and copy to clipboard" method is a great (and very easy) way to combat this. Just get into the habit.
