I've pretty much settled on the Viewsonic as my next monitor, but I'm curious if a factory refurb would be a risk worth taking. Retail the monitor sells for $539. Shipping is only $1, and I'd have to buy a DVI cable, but I'm assuming that would be my only other expense(which would bring my total cost up to around $499).

Is it worth taking a shot and saving $40 after the purchase of the cable?
