i bought a 9700p there about a year back. ran fine for almost a year, then had some issues. sent it to powercolor and they sent it (or another) back, and been just fine.

I bought a powercolor refurbished 9700pro from newegg that was defective. Returned it no questions asked and bought a brand new Sapphire 9800 instead.

I got my Sapphire 9800Pro "Ultimate" as a refurb off of Newegg. Works great. I added the Zalman add-on fan, and it OCs up past 9800XT speeds on the core.

Obviously, they're hit or miss (like any refurb product), but just from anecdotal evidence here on AT, I'd estimate that at least 80% of them work just fine. If it arrives DOA, or flakes out quickly (I'd strongly suggest doing some thorough testing once it arrives), you can send it back (you have either 1 or 2 weeks to return a refurb product for a full refund).

I've had mixed experience. Got a sweet GF4 4200 for a good price that had nothing wrong with it..but a 9700 I got way back and a fvcked up cap on it, but it still ran.

To my understanding if there is a manufacturers warranty it should be in effect even if it is sold as refurbished. But you may want to contact the manufacturer directly in regard to their warranty policy. Barebones or OEM is the way that it is packaged. Often OEM comes with limited or no warranty since it is meant to be sold in a system maybe such as Dell or Gateway. OEM also has little to no extras such as connectors, software etc. It should still have any drivers that are specific to that manufacturers product.

This depends on the manufacturer (you may have a full warranty, a shorter warranty, or even no warranty!), so you should check if you're counting on the warranty. I'm not sure if Sapphire still warrants refurb cards.

Newegg doesn't promise that you'll get *any* accessories, up to and including drivers. However, some people have reported getting the full retail package with their refurb cards from Newegg, so YMMV.

I've gotten a refurbs before. No problems, runs great. No accessories what so ever were included. But by the same token, I've received refurb mobos that had no problems with full retail packaging. ie: Luck of the draw.

I bought an Asus p4p800 SE motherboard that was a refurb from NewEgg and it came retail with everything. I had no problems with it. Like stated before Luck of the draw about what extras you receive.

my 9800pro is a newegg refurb.....works great
so is my MSI KT6 Delta mobo......as mentioned before, full retail package, works great as well

I sure appreciate the feedback because it is a way to save some dough if youre willing to take a little risk. Besides Newegg does give 15 days to return it if it doesn't work.

Got a Gainward Ti4200 that came with a aftermarket Zalman cooler on it for some reason, worked great and was a good bargain.
