Refurbished Plasma TV, what do you all think?

Title says it all, specifically the Vizio P50 for $1399.99 at Tiger Direct.

Free shipping + 3% cash back +1.5% from my credit card = $1337. I heard about the costco deal which to me would cost $1590 (tax) + cost of membership (not including my credit card cash back though + either the shipping charge or getting the TV home myself (no truck).

Basically, taking a refurb for $250-300 in savings...

I would not buy any TV refurbished. Especially when its from an online dealer and not something you can check out for yourself.

Save yourself some heartache and pain and just buy a brand new one. Your conscience will be able to rest easy that way.

Not only would I never buy any expensive product refurbished (especially a Plasma screen), I could swear I've seen that same model TV new for only a little more money.

Not only that but Tiger direct is a crappy place to buy from... I'd say keep shopping.
