I'm building a PC for my sister. I need a second monitor but figure I'll just give her my 17" CTX and get myself a larger 19" or 21" monitor since I use the PC more and tend to game on it.
I can afford a brand new 19"-21" monitor but it'll seriously hit me in the pocket and I'd likely have to go with a generic brand. I saw a refurbished 19" Sony Trinitron and could get it for about $200 with shipping. My question is, are refurbished monitors a safe bet or should I try searching around for a brand new monitor, albeit a cheaper brand?
