Hi,

What do u think about refurbished products?

Is there a way to know if a product is refurbished or not?

Thanks

I have bought literally dozens of refurbs, these days mostly from Newegg, and not one single time has their been anything wrong with them. Your mileage will vary but that has been my experience throughout the years. I have bought both consumer electronics, a whole PC and many individual parts such as processors, motherboards, graphics cards and CDROMs/Burners.

If an item is refurbished the retailer is supposed to STATE that fact. However, I have seen instances of others getting refurbed merchandise when the product was listed as new. I cannot say this has personally happened to me but I've read about it on other forums several times. The chances are slim, though and they will typically let you know beforehand.

Personally, I plan on keeping Newegg busy in the refurb department for years to come ;)

newegg.com is the safest place to buy refurbs since they have good customer service for when you get a defective item.

search archived threads here and in Off-Topic with keyword "refurb" for several good threads on refurbs.

Thanks for the replies...

PanzerIV how do I recognize when a product is refurbished? I'll buy the Asus A7N8X Rev: 2.0 MOBO, and I think it's the refurbished one...

I agree! Newegg is the ONLY place I'd buy a refurb!

They will usually have a section marked refurbished. Newegg for instance, has a special area on their website for those items. Where are you getting yours from? If it gives no indication it's a refurb or customer return (really the same thing), then it's probably new.
