Refurbished iPhone 8GB for $249

It says on the website "*Requires 2-year plan, ordered during activation process. Limit one per customer."
 
Yea it says that, but activation for iphones is at home. You activiate the 2 yr contract when you activate it using itunes. When I bought the phone, it never asked me for my SSN or any of that.

So yes, technically it requires you to activate 2 yrs contract to use the phone. However, that can be gotten around.
 
I need the idiot version please. So you can buy it, activate a 2y contract and not pay anything monthly? What is the 2y contract then? It's not a phone/cellular contract? Don't they take all your billing info?
 
buy from from att online store (they ship it to you inactivated)
DONT use itunes to activate (so dont run it if you want to use it on t-mobile or if you are international with some other provider)
use whatever program you want to activate (ziphone is easy to use)
att doesnt know about it, cause you just bought a phone, but its inactivated
profit!

Haha, oh my god that is so apt you have no idea. The 2nd day after the Iphone came out and they were incredibly expensive and you had to wait in line all night...some sideways visor wearing dude backed into my wifes brand new car and tried to leave the scene just as I arrived. After talking him into staying and finding out he had no insurance he whipped out his shiny new Iphone and called his girlfriend to see if her dad, the policeman, could help him out. Sideways hat, $200 dollar sneaks, new iPhone, no insurance....priceless.
 
I got the 8GB version from my G/F for christmas despite of my major aversion to Apple (it was a half-joke on her part since I continually made fun of hers). Catch was I had to activate it with the 2-year plan (which, btw, only offers 400 anytime minutes). Had I known the "$59.99" month charge would come out to nearly $80 with fees and taxes, no F-in way I would have activated it. Here I am, stuck paying AT&T for 2 years now, or paying $200 early termination.

The phone itself is pretty cool and is easy-to-use, but I do feel self-concious using it in public: I usually go somewhere private before using it. But the phone itself is definitely worth $200. If you are technically proficient, I would suggest unlocking it and going with a cheap T-Mobile plan.

White people love Apple btw
 
I believe you can choose any voice plan they have to offer to cover your usage, Your not stuck with a 450 min plan. If its not working for you then move your plan up to avoid any overage charges. When you activate its pretty clear what your monthly charges are going to be. If your not sure register for online customer care and they will detail it there. As far as I know their ETF is $175. If you are only on the 59.99 plan I would think your bill would be around $72-74 with taxes. If your hittin $80 then your using something else like 411 ($1.79) to connect or your going over text, etc. Doulbe check your bill because you can save yourself money in the long run.
