This is a old laserjet printer, but I have one and it just keeps going on and on. Toner cartridges are common and not too expensive -- and lasts for a LOT of pages (800+ and still going). Excellent print quality.

Prints perfectly in WinME (or just about any OS). This is a great buy for even a refurbished one, though shipping could be high. Company looks reputable.

Wow, I have one of these. I got it refurbished (got broken from a friend for free, paid $175 to have it fixed). It's lasted about 7 or 8 years and never given me any problems. Don't know if this is a great deal, though. You can get new 600 dpi laser printers for about $200. Those are much better quality, printwise.

A good quality machine, but I bought my then girlfriend it's successor, the 3P, in 1991!

Time has passed this baby by.

No man this is a workhorse of a printer. I have one, and have put at least 2 cases of paper through it. There IS a paper tray accessory for it (probably cost like $400 new) that you might be able to track down, it goes underneath the printer and has a regular tray etc. For a hundred bucks if you want a solid laser that's not a bad deal. I'll admit it'd be nice if it was more like $50, but hey...

I just wanted to let you know that I have been using these printers for a couple years at work, and they are one of the more problematic. The printers, in my experience, are fine for regular lightweight paper printing, but none of them will handle envelopes or heavyweight/bond paper without frequent jamming or horrible wrinkles. Also, lengthy or detailed spreadsheets and reports tend to overwhelm them. Many of the problems however, do revolve around feeding so if you get one, make sure to keep the feed area clean and toner cartridges fresh. The fold out front tray holds approximately 25 sheets of lightweight paper, which gets old when you print as much as I do. Once you get familiar with what the printers can and can?t handle, it performs well, but I would just as soon try to find a III series refurb, even if it meant more money.

Good luck.

I'll back up Starsman2 on the horrible wrinkles. The IIP doesn't like to print envelopes, and produces quite a bit of wrinkling, unless you have the envelope feed out of the front after printing, not out of the back, which is standard. Again, not such a great deal for 100 bucks, IMHO.

Atrac, I'm sure they come pre-faded for those of you who like the faded look. Otherwise, you might just have to throw it in the washing machine for a few cycles :)
