No resolution yet, this was to open the door and I was impressed with that as he didn't really need to do that - and the way some attacked eVGA in public and most likely via email - they could have simply let it die down.

Remember, you (usually) can get more with a little less venom than with too much - or words to that effect.

Add me to the list of people who received an order cancellation....but RECEIVED a 7900GTX KO, albeit at the price of $100.

I was actually glad to get the cancellation notice, as it wasn't posted these only had 90-day warranty till AFTER I ordered.

I may have come off too pissed on that post. No ones contacted me at all yet and the emails I sent have been unanswered. All I was hoping for was a special price on a 7900gs or gt that I could apply the 50 monopoly dollars to get something close to what I was supposed to get originally. Oh well, Guess Evga never gets my money again.

I bought 2 680i boards, a 7900gs a 7800gt, a 8800gts in the last year alone. I build PCs for my high school age nephews for fun and always liked the warranty........guess ill look at xfx now.....

Sorry to hear that. Did you send one to the address above? I know he said he would be calling people today as I received my call close to 5 PM our time and they just opened (I would guess) and hour ago. I know from what he said they were trying to see what they could do on a case-by-case basis. Having said that, I would have to wonder if they placed a little less priority towards people who sent them FU email or the like BUT I didn't see your post as being over the top - IMHO!

Give it a couple more hours (it's 11:30 CDT here) and then call their CS number and ask about it...just a suggestion as it couldn't hurt.

And, in my opinion, I think they closed that thread because some people were going a little overboard - in support of eVGA - and attacking those of us who were bringing this to their attention. Again, it is just my opinion...

I got the email about the $50 bucks, but I don't "see" it in my account anywhere. Am I supposed to do something special to use/see it?

I haven't received an email or call and its starting to bother me a little. They have not refunded my money and its been almost a week. I wrote a very nice email to The head of their marketing and cant believe after their assurance they are still leaving me in the lurch. At the very least give someone their money back if you cant help them out. I am speechless.......

They must like me as I have had two emails PC (Post Cancellations) and a telephone call. ;)

Here is the thread - LINK

In addition, my card came yesterday!

Try SD as the one person there has Joe's direct line.

I am surprised he hasn't called yet?

Got an email back. Said it's shipping tomorrow the latest. Joe's a nice guy. It would've been ridiculous if one of those people who ordered a couple days after me got my card...

People rag on EVGA like they are owed something by the company as a form of compensation...

Compensation for what - clicking a mouse? Are some of the people at the EVGA forums seriously lowering themselves to the level of vultures in an attempt to scavenge the company now? If an order was canceled, all someone is owed is a prompt refund. Anything else is a bonus.

This is the "Hot Deals" forum and YMMV is applicable to nearly each and every deal. Hopefully none of our users here were the ones doing the bashing over there.

I beg to differ, If they had canceled the order without taking our money it would be one thing, but they have indeed taken our money. For me I was able to -at least order-the 60 dollar 7800gtx. After I placed the order the item was up for an additional 4 days at 99 dollars but they choose to cancel my promotional order at 60 dollars. That is unethical but within their rights. Secondly nowhere on the page for the first day of the promotion was a disclaimer that these items had a 90 day warranty yet they edit the warranty information AFTER people make tons of orders and expect people not to be upset about it? If you read all the posts on EVGA forums and over at SD and still feel the way you feel then that is your prerogative.

that's the key source of all the (my) anger. They knew that there wasn't enough stock when they saw 100000000000 ordered. They charged everyone's cards and most people still have no refund.

They also did not advertise the warranty anywhere on the initial page. If i had known it was only 90 days, i wouldn't have ordered in the first place.

That is the source of my dissatisfaction!

So I got an email last Friday saying my order was canceled and that I would receive the free game and $50 in monopoly money. However, yesterday my 7800GTX showed up in the mail...weird, but I'm not complaining.

if you guys are upset because they are not granting prompt refunds, or edited the return policy after the orders, then you have valid issues. My issue was the people simply griping because they had canceled orders due to items being oversold. If you arent getting your money back, try calling them or writing that guy who was referred to earlier in this thread.

Compensation? For what? People with cancelled orders got 50 (probably worthless) evga bucks and a free game. What do you expect them to hand out new, free video cards because they oversold their inventory of refurbs? Geez, just chalk it up to a missed opportunity and go on with life.

Compensation as in a discount that would make it worth your while, as opposed to paying well above retail.

apparently i was "allocated a card" and recieved it today UPS. I am not even opening it, going right back where it came from. Now to battle with them for return shipping, i am not paying for it.

I am going to write a complaint about the warranty not being a full warranty, from every indication on the webpage it appeared to have the full warranty.
