I have the FPS1000's and they are nice speakers - were great when I got them about 3 years ago.. Well worth the $28 they want for the refurbs. I may pick up another set as replacements parts for mine..

Whoa...refurbed 5.1 for $60? So maybe $70-75 after shipping? Not too bad....I'll have to check some reviews...I have a sb live! 5.1 value.

I have the FPS1800's. Correct, no speaker stands.

I didn't see that post on techbargains for the one with DD 5.1 decoder. But I know the only ones with decoders are the DTT2500's and up.

And the Logitech z560's are much stronger than any of these.

The refurbed micro works are a great deal. I sold a set to a friend with a system I built for her. They rock. They were LN when I got them from this site.

According to the Creative site the stands are not included with the DTT 2200's - it says they are an optional accessory which costs $30?

I'm quite tempted with these speakers as I have a Live 5.1 and a DVD ROM in my system. Would make a decent set to watch movie with :)

Seems hard to get reviews for these speakers though....... :(

I'd say if you've heard any of the black style (fps2000, soundworks digital, soundworks, fps1800 etc) soundworks from cambridge, you'll know what to expect. They all sound very similar to eachother, basically the sub differing slightly as well as the extra features such as digital in, 5.1 input etc...

I wouldn't say the neoseeker review was particularly objective as the reviewer did not have a very good set of reference "benchmark" speakers to compare this set up.

However, if they are comparable to the FPS2000 speakers then they are pretty good indeed. I know that I was very impressed with my FPS2000's and that was after using Altec Lansing 45.1's.

Going to the Altecs after my first set of generic PC speakers was such a difference though and I was over the moon :)

The main drawback is the lack of speaker stands - granted, the stands that come with the FPS2000's are fairly useless but they do work to a certain extent.

Anyone ever heard the Microworks and able to compare with Logitech z560s? I am a pure music listener and don't care much for the pseudo-HT multimedia speaker market. I had been eyeing the Microworks for a couple years, but they were too expensive. I am dissatisfied with the music quality from my z560s (even with good B&W satellites attached) and would really love to have a set of Microworks if they live up to the reviews from the past and really produce good quality audio.

Not sure about the microworks, they're probably higher quality then the other lines, as they are priced a bit more, but thats only my guess
Better that the z560's? Not sure, they only have one driver per speaker, not seperate tweeters and woofer's, or anything special, so I wouldn't expect awesome sound, but you never know.

The Klipsch 4.1 setup are probably my guess for a good alternative to the z560s, as they are a 4.1 setup instead of 2.1 like the microworks, and sound great too. The VideoLogic
DigiTheatre DTS are good too, but higher price range as well.

For the microworks, I'd say thats a great price, as I've never seen them below 100 or so before.

Has anyone gotten these speakers? I'd hate to commit to refurbs that are a problem or just don't cut it. There 4.1 system is priced at the same point. I've been reluctant to get 5.1 speakers ever since that DELL debacle.

Thanks very much.

Nice price but after listening to those Logitech z560's everything else sounds kinda wimpy. Now if I could just find them for under $100...

Perfect timing, Gnurb. I've been wanting to replacing the aging Yamaha YST-M10's on the wife's system. Just ordered a set of the soundworks for her. :D
