My motherboard is a refurb from Newegg. The stupid chipset fan started making noise, so I replaced that.

Other than that it's been fine. No missing parts or anything.
 
yeah - I have had a few refurb boards from Newegg, and all were new in the sealed bag and included all accessories they say weren't included! Nice!!

But... what won't you buy refurbed? They have CPUs, Video cards, drives...

Not sure I want a refurb cpu.
 
a refurb cpu either works or it doesnt, id find it hard to find one that will work then die after 15 days.

I have a PC with a refurb mobo.. I figured out why the guy returned it. When you put the audio output line in the back of the mobo for onboard sound, you only get left channel. If you pull it out a bit (to where you would normally only get one channel) you get both. freaaaaky.
 
The warranty is what makes it cost much more. Some is new, some isn't and is bound to fail or go bad in a month or two.

I'm still using the Asus A7v133 that I got as "refurb" from Newegg over 2 1/2 years ago. I could easily sell it today for 2/3 of what I paid for it.

I don't know what your board was, but these are pretty notorious for having noisy/cheap nb chipset fans, and that's the one thing I did have to replace after about 18 months 😉

I'd do it again, but for my next system I expect that some of the extras will be more important than they were last time.

search archived threads for the last 10 "newegg refurb" threads.

Many people do get all accessories, but some get bare video cards (frustrating if you need a NTSC video I/O dongle or DVI-VGA converter) or get motherboards without drivers, cables, and (most important) the metal plate I/O shield for the case.

I purchased a refrub antec Tru Power 430 power supply from newegg a while back, when it came to my house everything was brand new still 😕
