Just ordered one. They charge taxes for CA shipping address. This puppy and Mario Kart 8 with another free game is a really good deal IMO.

Beyond that, they have a refurb 3DS for $110. And a 3DS XL for $150

They do charge a min of $5 for shipping and they do charge sales taxes in all states it looks like.

It comes with a 1 yr warranty like the retail unit. I think that just means you can't return or exchange a working unit.

Actually, there were two models: basic (white, 8 GB), and deluxe (black, 32 GB). Rest is the exact same.

I didn't know Nintendo sold direct from their website. As someone who kinda cares about the company and doesn't give a hoot for walmart or amazon, from now on I think I'm going straight to them.

theres a promotion where mario kart 8 purchase nets you a free game.

they're good games, too. windwaker, mii party, pikmin 3, and the wii u mario game.

You just buy mario kart separate. The mario kart 2 for 1 deal is when you purchase mario kart 8 and register with nintendo by end of June I think. So basically what I meant to say was that for $260 you get the Wii U system and 3 games.

So I got my refurb unit and here are some pictures. The console and gamepad look brand spanking new. Absolutely 0 scratches on anything. Also you are getting the basic bundle but with the deluxe console so couple of things are missing from the retail deluxe bundle:

Wii U Console Stand

Installing the 4.0 update took a while but after that it's smooth sailing. The gamepad also recognized my TV and cable box with ease so I can control them both through it which is kinda cool.

I wouldn't worry about any of those. I haven't used them. You will probably want to get a recharging base for the tablet. I got a combo Energizer branded one that handles the tablet plus two Wii remote plus. There are a lot of other choices, but FWIW, mine was worth the $11.

Also, you can buy a bigger battery (direct from Nintendo) for the Tablet if you are a marathon gamer. We rarely ever run the battery down, but it can be done. I can tell you that if I plan on doing that, I just use the Pro remote and it probably has a 15-20 hr charge.
