Ordered. Thanks for the info.

I've been looking on and off on Craigslist for an used one but with no luck. I actually wanted the AT&T model as it can be hacked for voice calls like the European Galaxy Tab. Tax, $35 activation fee, and $15 first month data fee really makes this $265 deal for me but that's still good deal for 3g AT&T model.

EDIT: I'm reading on Slickdeals that I can just cancel the data service and not pay the $35 activation and $15 first month data. Sweet! $214 total with tax. :)

Wow, this is an awesome deal. I was in the same boat as Naustica, and I jumped on this deal. quote from landing page about contract:

"No Service Commitment. Min. $14.99/mo. data plan required. Monthly data plans automatically renew every 30 days unless cancelled. "

Good find, too bad it's Friday and I won't get this until Tue/Wed now. :(

And, the deal's dead already. Wow. I got an order confirmation, but some folks said they had shipping notification already and I haven't gotten that. Will worry until I'm sure...

No shipping confirmation yet for me. :( I'm concerned because AT&T pulls your credit and they won't be able to pull mine. My credit is frozen.

I hope you-all get your tablets, I jumped on the iPad gen 1 case clearance by AT&T, they cancelled my Otterbox :( I did get a nice leather case by Griffin for $5 shipped though.

What a pain in the ass. Got an email saying they couldn't pull my credit because of the credit freeze so the order is on hold. They will apparently do a hard pull of your credit. I can understand if it's new phone service but I'm just buying a tablet with month to month optional data. They have my credit card so they could just charge my credit card if I ever use the monthly data. Not that I will ever use their data plan. It'll be used 90% on WIFI and 10% on tethering from my T-Mobile phone. I might mess around with voice calls using my T-Mobile sim card for fun but I doubt I'll do much calling with it.

Now I have to debate if it's worth the hassle and $3 fee to Equifax to temporarily thaw my credit to buy this device or just cancel the order. :\

And... I got the incomprehensible cancellation email. Dammit!

My order has been approved and is being processed. :) Had to temporarily thaw my credit for them but I think it's worth the hassle.

Mine was delivered today. :) The unit looks brand spanking new with factory plastic. No sign of use or scratch anywhere. I looked at the charge connector area, headphone jack, and all over the unit. I think it's brand new unit sold as refurb to quietly erase excess stock without pissing off early buyers. Any case, I'm extremely happy with the Tab. 7 inch Tab is the perfect size for me, and I'm already familiar with Galaxy S hardware since I owned the Vibrant since launch. I plan on rooting the device, unlocking the hardware so I can use my T-Mobile sim card, flash the Euro modem so I can make and receive phone calls, and install 2.3 Gingerbread rom. Best tablet for $200.

I rooted it, sim card unlocked it, and installed 2.3.3 Gingerbread rom. I inserted my T-Mobile sim card, and I was able to get EDGE data. I placed couple test phone calls. All worked without a hitch. Got Netflix installed and running. GPS works great. I got full lock within seconds.

I don't know if it's Gingerbread or what but the Tab is definitely smoother and faster than my Vibrant running Froyo. That's even with the Tab running RFS. The stock internet browser in 2.3.3 is extremely fast. I think it's gpu accelerated like Opera Mobile. It feels just as fast and smooth as Safari on the iPad. That's with Flash.

Galaxy Tab is awesome.

Deal is back but is $50 more than the last time. It's $250 now instead of $200 but that's still good deal IMO. AT&T GSM version is identical to the international P1000 Tab which is best and most desired version as it's compatible with the rest of the world. This has no contract and the $15 monthly service plan can be canceled right away. I had zero problem canceling with AT&T. I wish I can say the same for T-Mobile.

Seriously, this is just taunting me. Now I've *just* gotten the Sprint one set up and the Nook returned.

They're just going to get cheaper, with all the tablets coming out, they won't keep these around gathering dust...

No, it won't get any cheaper. They *fly* out the door at $200, run out the door at $250, and new tablets coming in at twice the price don't change that.

Maybe if Kal-El hits at the same $500 price, but still -- twice the price is more than twice as hard to justify on an impulse buy.
