newegg has a few still

they are 1.45 volts, run at 266 bus and have a 7x multiplier. 1.88 ghz. might be worth a try for some of your o/cers , htpc people, etc

I saw this, too.

The only review for the XP 2500+ (at regular price) seems to indicate that it doesn't work well with desktop motherboards. I ordered one anyway as I'd like to upgrade my laptop, so we'll see what happens. If it works with my 8RDA+, I'll be extrememly pleased.

I have a Soyo KT333 Dragon Ultra Plus Edition. Soyo has a a BIOS rev, 2007, that states is for "Low Power CPU's. I didn't know that there was a Barton made in 266 speeds. If it has a 7X multiplier, the cpu speed would then be 867mhz.

What is it that I am missing other than never catching a Newegg refurb in stock?

Do you have the AMD part number for this beast?

Compgeeks has the XP 2600+ 266FSB on sale, used. I don't want that.

That spec for the 2500+ dosen't exist. I think it's either, A) one of those fake processors or B) something suspicious and should be avoided. Get a real Barton 2500+ at NewEgg.Com, guaranteed.
