Dell Outlet finally has these monsters in stock. $700 savings...and if you've ever bought from Dell Outlet you know that most stuff is essentially new (I think the majority of outlet stuff is "buyer's regret").

2560x1600 resolution, 11ms response time, requires dual-link dvi. Better than dual 24" imho...

Might have to grab myself a couple :)

Apple dorped the price on the 30" by $500 expect the same from Dell. Or, how about $1500 for a NEW 3007? Also, if the price is set at $1700 you acn still expect at a 20% coupons to come by...

I will getting a second 2407 whenever it is on clearance (below $400).

What would be a good card to drive it for non-gaming tasks? I would mainly use it for multi-media.

Do you think many of these refurbs were returns with dead or stuck pixels?

X1900 XT will drive it just fine, there's one for 289 after 100 rebate from newegg. Or you could go for a X1900 AIW from zipzoomfly for $200.

I wouldn't doubt it. Imagine spending $2,000 on a monitor and having a stuck red pixel smack in the middle. I'm sure you'd figure a way to exchange/return it.

I'm driving mine with a EVGA 6600GT that has a single dual-link DVI port. Works like a charm for coding & DVDs. Through a price mistake, mine was only $1250 when they first came out :)

Considered the smaller version 24" is now only $700 new (on sale). The price tag of $1400 is still quite high, especially for a refurb. May be a wishful thinking on my part but I may reconsider when price drops below $1200, for a brand new one.

Whatcha looking for it to show? I'm pretty boring really, mostly just buncha IE windows, outlook, and Visual Studio all on screen. I love the monitor. Kept one of my 20" Dells for a secondary monitor as well but it looks small in comparison.
