Remember people, it's only a good deal if its a good product, and refurb memory is just a bit too... risky? Memory is not something that one returns without a good reason.

A lot of people in these forums would use the excuse "doesn't overclock high enough" as an excuse to return memory.

I bought 3 sticks of 256mb at $59 a piece-all they had available at the time-Not a great deal-If it doesn't work i'll return it-30 day warranty from newegg for sure plus lifetime warranty from crucial I think.

Isn't refurb RAM what they used to put in Packard Bell computers that made them so reliable? ;) JK.

I've been holding onto the PB reference for thread crapping for soooo long.

Actually, these sticks are prolly from the morons who bought their new P4 RDRAM systems from Dell & thought they'd put in some aftermarket RAM because it's cheaper. "DDR is the same as RDRAM, right? It's a helluva lot cheaper than what Dell sells!"

I wish I could have waited for memory prices to drop before I bought anymore but I need it now. I fiqure I saved $100 on the 3 that I bought. Even If I have to ship a stick back it can't cost much to ship, $3.20 priority mail.

priority mail for 1 pound (cheapest it can be) is $3.50, $3.95 for two pounds.

I think its a good idea. I save some money, get free shipping, and i could either return it to newegg for a refund or most manufacturers would replace it themselves with there 'lifetime warranties'. Whatever it takes to save a few bucks!

I'm pretty sure I'm getting lifetime warranty from crucial. I hope its not any good-they wont have any other refurb to give me and I'll get new. Newegg has 1 of the best rma service around, Most places dont have toll free # for rma's
