So, I have a refridgerator in my garage. It came with the house that my fiancee and myself purchased a few months ago. Well, the freezer portion is starting to not freeze so well. I noticed about a week back that the ice-cream in there was melting. So I stuck a thermometer in there, and have been monitoring the temperatures. It has been around 20 F. The bottom non-freezer section is at 40 F constantly, which seems right. I have the freezer set to the coldest setting. I assume that the refridgerators thermometer is probably busted or something?

Is it a frost-free unit? If so, it could be the defrost timer is stuck 'on'.

i know the problem.. hehehehe

okay.. the rear portion of the freezer has iced up.. (even a frost free)..reason.. bad insulation on the fridge door or someone left the door open too long..

Just replace / redo teh door insulation.. that should fix it.. would help turning it off for a while so the ice can defrost.
