I'm going to be refreshing my HTPC in Jan of next year. I'm wanting new TV cards, a combo BRD/HDDVD drive, a new case (already know which one) and new input devices. The core of the system is going to stay the same, it works great for what I watch.
What I need recommendations on is capture cards. I'm currently using 2xWinTV PVR150MCEs. I'd like to go with a dual-tuner, single slot solution (needs to be PCI - my video card's got a massive passive heatsink that blocks my 1x PCIE slot). I'm looking for ultra high quality SD recording - want to get at least DVD quality, not YouTube quality for my DVR recordings. Cards must be VistaMCE compatible.
Alternately, if somebody recommend a low-profile(single slot), quiet heatsink for a radeon hd2400Pro, I'll take recommendations on PCIE tuner cards.
Secondly, I want a Blu-Ray/HDDVD combo drive. I don't need burning at all. The only on I can really find is the LG GGC-H20L combo drive. Am open to other brands/models, but preference is given to lower cost drives.
Finally, I need some recommendations on better input devices. Specifically, a multi-function remote control that's VistaMCE/PowerDVD compatible(or can be programmed) and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo that can do at least 15 feet of range. Preference given to small, light and thin on the keyboard.
