how do you know what is the best refresh setting for your monitor and will the setting affect games, benchmarks, etc.? thanks

Are you running WinXP? Just set it to only show rates the monitor is able to display then select the highest option available.

The refresh rate can affect games/benchmarks if you have v-sync turned on.

I have windows set to show what I can run, I just ran aquamark and got my best yet. I changed it from 60mhz to 75 (I could go to 85)

Is it good to turn v-sync on? I never knew what that did.
