I just switched to an x800 pro from a ti4600, and I have one problem.
On the ti4600, when I set all the refresh rates in registry, it would run anything within the bandwidth of the monitor as long as it was a standard refresh rate (60 75 85 100 120 140 150, etc).
So I try this with the x800 pro, and resolutions like 1280x960x120, and it drops to 100. I am thinking that it is the catalyst driver panel, since if I force in there, the refresh rates are severely limited (the only one that runs 150hz is 1024x768 -- not even the lower res's).
Is there a way to get by this?
I have a trinitron monitor if your wondering why I use high refresh rates.
Sync range: 170khzx130khz
Bandwidth: 370mhz
Does the x800 just not allow those refresh rates? I think it is something else, because it won't even let me go out of range. For example, if I set 150hz at 1280x1024 in the ti4600, the monitor would go out and lose signal (out of sync range). This just automatically switches to one of the refresh rates in the catalyst panel. Seems like it isn't allowing it to run that.
