10x7 @ 85hz, which is what I currently use, coincidentally. If my monitor supported 12x10 @ 85hz or better, I might actually use that resolution in gaming, but probably not have that set as my desktop resolution. My eyesight is poor.
I always go with the biggest res possible in games. For some reason in games the 60Hz refresh doesnt hurt my eyes or give me headaches. On the desktop I require at least 85hz. So I would go with the refresh that works with the res.
Of those you listed, I chose 11x8 @ 75hz. I can't stand 60hz.
Really until my 22" Viewsonic Proffesional bit the dust in the hurricane ( :brokenheart: ) I was running 12x10 @ 120Hz. I don't care much for 75hz either. I want at least 85hz, for the reduction in eye strain.
I would have to look at the difference between 1024 @85 and 1280 @75. It would depend on framerates and flicker. Hard to say for sure without experiencing both.
