Ok, I downloaded a program called RivaTuner to fix the Windows XP refresh rate problem, and I used the 60hz fix on my computer, so it defaulted to the maximum (85hz), but now some of my games are really dark. For example, to get the brightness I used to have with Counter-Strike, I had to turn the in game settings to the max, and max out my brightness and contrast settings on my monitor, and it was still a bit darker then it was before. Is there a problem or something?
Also, by default, I have the desktop set at 75hz and my monitor brightness is at 80/100 and my contrast is at 100/100, and I usually have default settings in game. Anything less and it gets a bit to dark. Could it be that my monitor is just too dark to start with?
Because I could use the Display Properites to raise the brightness/gamma/contrast because it has a much greater range, and that way I can adjust it to a brighter setting then I could with my monitor.
