refresh rate wont go up

i have a radeon 9800xt,
catalyst control center
drivers 5.1.2600
monitor CTX PL6
windows XP sp2

when i put this same monitor into another computer it works fine.

my problem is my refresh rate looks like its going at about 60 but i have it set at 100 and its giving me ceasures. I cant seem to get it to go any better. I have a crappy little monitor next to it that looks fine but this one is annoying me. I tried runnign a refresh lock and it did nothing. I really done get it I have never had a problem like this before.

can anyone shed any light on this problem?

I've had this problem with ATI cards before. You're probably setting the refresh rate from the Adapter tab, right? Instead, go to the Displays tab (from Properties > Settings > Advanced), open the Monitor window, and set it there.

thanks a ton at first i did not think that would work it took a restart to get the settings to take.

I have asked like 3 different questions on the hard forums and no one has been able to solve them, I think they only answer opinions on what to buy threads or something stupid. I just signed up for this forum just for this problem the solution is so simple yet no one seemed to know. I think I will be doing my forum reading here from now on.

Just avoid P&N and venture into OT at your own cost.
