Refresh rate stuck at 30 hz after re-install

Hi everyone,

I recently installed a fresh copy of Windows Vista 64-bit. Everything is great except for one of my monitors on a dual monitor setup.

I have a BenQ E2200 and a BenQ V2410. I'm able to get both monitors to display at their native resolution of 1920 x 1080, but the V2410 is stuck at 30 HZ, so everything looks really poor on it.

I downloaded the V2410 drivers from the BenQ site, but the problem persists. Is there a way to force it to display at 60 HZ using Powerstrip or some other program? It was working fine prior to the format.

I vaguely remember running into the same issue when I first bought the monitor, but can't remember what I did to fix it. Not sure if it matters, but I've got an ATI Radeon 4870HD.

Thanks for your help,

Jon

I had something happen like that too, but it was wrong resolution that got stuck.

Try:
- With everything connected and running, unplug and re-connect the monitor video cable (hopefully resets the monitor) or
- With everything connected and running, unplug and re-connect the monitors power plug or
- Hook the 30 hz monitor to another computer to get it synched back to 60 hz, then reconnect it to the original computer

Also what happens when you swap the video cables with the dual heads? (ie, 1=>2 ; 2=>1)
