Refresh rate for 19" LCD

I just bought an HP f1903 19" LCD and the recommended resolution is 1280x1024 @ 60 Hz. The resolution is fine but wouldn't a 75 Hz refresh rate be better?

Higher refresh rate won`t increase the speed of the response time,remember LCDs don`t refresh like CRTs.

I`ve a Samsung 191T which can be set at 60hz or 70hz,to tell you the truth there`s no difference image quality wise between the two.

Response time of the LCD in question determines the speed not the refresh rate.

LCDs don't refresh. All the pixels are in their intended state all the time, and the lamp behind them is also lighting the entire surface all the time.

As for the image change rate, 60 Hz is sufficient even for the fastest 16 ms panels.

They're right. It really doesn't matter to the LCD but depending on your graphics card and setup one refresh rate may be better then another. I've seen cases were the image is blurry at 60 Hz or blurry at 75 Hz or the same at both.

Basically try both at tell us which one you like better.

My 172N does 60, 70, or 75 and 60 gives me headaches, 75 is much easier on the eyes. I don't know much about how that all works but I stare at my monitor a lot and can definitely tell a difference.
