Like the title says, in WinXP will I need a refresh rate fix like I did for my GF4? If I do, what is the most recommended way to do this? With my GF4 I ran a program called MultiRes from Entech (maker of PowerStrip). I can use it with the Radeon 9500 Pro if need be.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, you do need a refresh fix for ATI too. I use a tweaker which has such option from Rage3d.com, works wery well.

Thanks. Is there any other reason to use the tweaker other than the refresh rate fix? Doesn't the ATI Control Panel offer many adjustments?

I use refreshlock. I've used it with my old Geforce card and now my ati 9700 card, no problems, although it needs to run in the background.

I use a program called ReForce... works perfectly with my GF4Ti4200, and it's a one time deal... you run it once, it fixes the XP bug, and you're all set until you upgrade your video card drivers... then you run it again, and it's fixed again.

It's funny that the people at Microsoft couldn't do this themselves in a simple Windows update. What's even more funny is when a company like EA creates a game that's designed to work with a bug in Windows, and if you've fixed the Windows bug, the game doesn't work until you fix that too. Morons.

Refresh Force (ReForce) is the universal utility that usually works prefectly on any video card and driver out there.

Hey I am having the same problem. I have always used refreshlock with my Ti4400 and now with my 9700pro, I cannot seem to get 100hz at 1600x1200 no matter what, the desktop will run it but no matter which settings in the program or control panel, games will not run at 100hz for 1600x1200.

I would like to find a simple solution that just plain works well, I know alot about this area but cannot seem to get 1600 to work at all! I have in the past and it is working only on desktop.

You can lock the refresh to desktop(or a specific refresh rate) in the advanced display property page of the catalyst drivers for DirectX.
